I just don’t want to hear about it.
Why? My son has eaten nothing but broccoli, meat, chicken, eggs and nuts for six months. My husband is living on lentils, bulghur, tomatoes and coconut water. My friends are all eating gluten-free.
Everyone is doing great, by the way. Ben cleaned up his digestive tract and is heading toward six-pack abs. Sam shrunk his prostate and lowered his blood pressure. Susan and Margaret find that avoiding gluten boosts their energy and mood.
This is good stuff, and I ought to be doing more of it. But all I have to do is think about it, and I go crazy. I turn into my 28-year-old self, obsessed with food, exercise, and how I look.
i didn’t even know those demons were still lurking. After all, I haven’t weighed myself in 20 years or so. I still fit into my old jeans. I eat what I want, including a lot of chocolate.
I don’t think much about these things, which is just the way I want it. So please, enjoy your healthy eating—and keep it to yourself.
